Job Description:

The Benedetto lab at Lancaster University is seeking a bioinformatician or computer scientist to join a collaborative project studying how the gut-brain axis influences gut bacterium effects on host thermotolerance in ectotherms. The role involves developing and implementing data analysis pipelines for omics data, including metagenomics, transcriptomics, metabolomics, and metabolic modelling, and analyzing datasets acquired during the project.

The project is funded by the BBSRC for 33 months and involves collaboration across multiple countries. The successful candidate will work with researchers in the UK, France, Germany, and the USA, providing an excellent opportunity to build a research network and develop independence.

Qualifications include a postgraduate degree in a relevant field, experience with omics pipelines, proficiency in R and Python, and strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
