A client within the Public Sector based in the UK is currently recruiting for an M&E Manager to join their Health, Safety & Compliance team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a compliance or property safety environment.
The Role
Key purpose of the role is to ensure the safe operation and compliance of M&E systems across a portfolio of residential and communal properties by overseeing servicing, maintenance, audits, and contractor performance. The role supports statutory obligations and quality assurance within lifts, electrical systems, fire protection, access control, and other M&E infrastructure.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Day-to-day management of M&E repair and compliance contracts
• Monitoring contractor and surveyor performance across multiple sites
• Conducting and ensuring timely servicing, inspections, and audits of M&E systems
• Supporting the management of risk assessments and ensuring completion of follow-up actions
• Collaborating with the Head of M&E and wider compliance team on safety performance and strategic goals
• Liaising with residents, stakeholders, and external agencies to ensure safety and satisfaction
• Maintaining compliance databases and ensuring documentation is up to date
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
• Demonstrable experience managing M&E compliance and contractor performance
• Experience carrying out risk assessments within a regulated, safety-led environment
• Good knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems (including IET regulations, LOLER, fire systems, access control, and IoT)
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
• Membership of MIET/TMIET or equivalent
• City & Guilds 236/2360, 2391 Inspection & Testing, or BS7671
• IOSH General Certificate or equivalent H&S qualification
• A full UK driving licence
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £55,650 p/a + £4,385 car allowance .
