An excellent opportunity is now available for a Patient Flow Manager to lead the Flow Team in Raigmore Hospital.

The Role:

The key aspects of this vital post are to be responsible for managing a multi-disciplinary flow team, incorporating operational, strategic, and quality aspects, along with the future development of the service. You will oversee safe and effective patient flow across Raigmore Hospital / Inner Moray Firth Operational Unit, aligned with NHS Highland\’s strategy.

You will ensure patients are placed in the most appropriate environment for their clinical needs. Working with colleagues, you will deliver Treatment Time Guarantee (TTG) for inpatients at Raigmore Hospital, balancing emergency admissions. You will also contribute to NHS Highland’s strategic review of bed utilization within Raigmore Hospital / Inner Moray Firth Operational Unit to ensure safe and effective patient flow. Promoting NHS Highland’s Admission, Transfer, and Discharge policy and supporting clinical teams to embed this policy is also a key responsibility.

The successful candidate must communicate a clear vision for the service, considering local and national agendas. Strong written and verbal communication skills, effective influencing and negotiating abilities, and proven leadership and decision-making skills are essential. Previous line management experience is required.

Applicants should have a relevant professional qualification, be educated to degree level or have experience as a senior clinician, such as Team Lead, Senior Practitioner, Senior Staff Nurse, or Senior Charge Nurse in an acute hospital setting. A thorough understanding of patient flow principles and a patient-centered approach are necessary.
