The Role:
- Support the delivery of the Strategic Transformation Programme through introduction and management of a robust project management and reporting process, enabling senior stakeholders and leaders to have appropriate oversight and governance of the programme.
- Support business in developing and implementing a standardised approach to project management, adopting best practice project management methodology and disciplines.
- Work alongside key stakeholders to track project process, coordinate governance reviews and reporting outputs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Play a key role in setting up Group Transformation Office, covering a spectrum of multi discipline transformation projects spanning functional development and major growth investments (Capex and M&A), to support delivery of the strategic growth objectives.
- Work with senior leaders and stakeholders to have group level view of all major growth and transformation projects, ensuring alignment between strategy and execution, facilitating communication across stakeholder groups.
- Develop programme structure and process for reporting on projects β including form of reporting, documentation suite to facilitate review, and reporting & review cadence.
- Work with project owners to ensure standardised approach to project management and reporting including consistent use of: Project Charter, Stage Gate process, Roles & Responsibilities planning, change control principles, milestone tracking and RAG reporting. In particular ensure projects have clear and robust milestone plans in place that can easily be reviewed and tracked to have a clear view of whether projects are on track with plans and objectives.
- Work with Director of Engineering to align on Stage Gate process, and support education of the process to all end-users and key stakeholders. Guide project managers through process and ensure projects managed in accordance with process, particularly with respect to major capital projects.
- Develop central review process that enables Executive / Transformation Office to be able to support programme delivery through: ensuring effective allocation of investment and resources; helping the organisation prioritise; and identifying conflicts, interdependencies and roadblocks. Deliver reports to communicate progress of the overall programme and key individual projects for use at management reviews (e.g. timings, risk status, resource loading, etc.
- Deliver routine reporting to the board and private equity fund.
- Manage document storage and sharing within the systems available.
- Work with finance to support financial reporting in line with PM progress (e.g. spend profile, overall ROI, timings, etc).
Profile:
- Strong understanding of PM principles and programme administration.
- Experience of cross-functional business reporting, visibility and awareness.
- Strong IT capability to work with Office 365 (including Project & SharePoint/Teams)
- Numerically capable; able to produce reports for multiple activities.
- Strong communication skills; Ability to engage and train teams and individuals using multiple methods (email, tel./video, in-person).
