Overview

The Jays is a brand-new service opening in 2025 that provides accommodation and support for up to 7 adults with Autism, Mental Health Needs, Learning Disabilities and Acquired Brain Injuries. We believe in the potential of each person we support and enable them to work towards their goals, live more independently and take control of their lives. We work closely with the person, their family and other professionals to define goals and how we can achieve them.

Role and Location

Role: Support Worker

Location: Merthyr Tydfil, CF47

Salary: £13.20 – £13.90 per hour

Hours: 35 hours a week

Licensing: Full UK Driving Licence Required

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day support and routine of the people we support.
  • Promoting independence while helping them live a fulfilling life.
  • Supporting and encouraging development of personal skills through hobbies and interests.
  • Maintaining and helping with health care needs, including accompanying to routine appointments or administering medication.
  • Teaching life skills such as budgeting, paying bills and shopping.
  • Assisting with personal care as required.
  • Assisting with domestic tasks including cleaning and cooking.
  • Providing guidance and encouragement through physical and emotional support.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Full UK Driving Licence Required
  • Dependent on experience and qualification
