Job Description

Quality Manager required on a permanent basis, based in Greater Manchester. Requiring proven industrial experience of leading/managing a QC (Quality Control) team within chemical manufacturing. Experience of ISO 9001 is desirable but not essential.

Salary: £35,000 – £55,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

SRG are working with a global manufacturer of specialist chemical products within the polymer sector, who are continuing a period of growth. They are now looking to hire a Quality Manager at their site based in Greater Manchester, on a permanent basis. This role will involve leading and organising the QC (Quality Control) team, complaint handling, process improvements and potentially leading the Quality Management System, and will suit candidates who are looking to further their career within a successful and global chemicals company.

Role / Description

  • Co-ordinating and overseeing the Quality Control (QC) laboratory
  • Ensuring the QC tests of raw materials and finished products run efficiently and in a timely manner
  • Manage, organise and direct the QC team
  • Keep documentation updated
  • Support in the analysis of production data
  • Technical training of the QC team
  • Support in process improvements across QC
  • Handling complaints from external customers

Requirements

  • A degree or similar qualification in Chemistry or a related field
  • Proven industrial experience within a leadership or management role in QC (Quality Control)
  • Knowledge/experience of ISO 9001 and/or leading a QMS is desirable but not essential
  • Excellent communication skills both written and spoken
  • Well organised with good time management skills
  • Enthusiastic, keen to learn and self-motivated
