PURPOSE STATEMENT
The product expert for our ingredients (bakery, dairy-alts, pizza bases amongst others), this role sits within the Commercial Team, with a close link to R&D, and works collaboratively with our customers building meal and menu items. Main responsibilities will include supporting development of customer briefs, ‘go to market’ plans for new product platforms, joint menu creation with customer chefs and enhancing relationships with focus accounts to enable long term key partnerships. Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders and key customers within the Foodservice channels to deliver projects on time to the highest possible standards. This role will be dedicated to supporting the growth ambitions of the key product areas within the UK.
Key Accountabilities/Outcomes
- Creation of culinary based applications using the full product portfolio
- Development of concepts for in-person and virtual customer inspiration presentations and product demonstrations
- Building strong relationships with key customers in the Foodservice and Retail Bakery channels to ensure the Rich portfolio is utilised in current and future development
- Collaboration with Executive Chefs on the co-development of innovative culinary concepts in customer development centres
- Track global & local culinary trends to provide creative recommendations to fill the customers innovation pipeline
- Support customers by problem solving recipe-based issues
- Work closely with the Commercial Team to ensure that the product range meets key culinary customer requirements
- Creation of recipe-based content for customer menu’s including photography and video
- Plan, manage and deliver new product recipe’s and in line with key customer expectations
- Understand complexity of recipe and assembly as it relates to the manufacturing line as well as the impact of the cost structure of the overall product
- Influence customer briefs based on cost model and customer needs
- Working with the category team to understand market trends, partnership options and be able to translate new product propositions into viable products for our customers
- Support completion of customer submission forms
- Understand how the product performs in different applications
- Present new product concepts internally and to customers, which will include live streams online and via social media
- Expectation to work with customers up to 2/3 days per week
- Responsible for supporting relationships with key customer touch points to make Rich UK a preferred partner.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience
Critical
- Experience as a Chef or Development chef, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience within a food manufacturing or Foodservice environment
- Culinary recipe development
- Presenting and influencing customers
Desirable
- Bakery or related experience
- Degree educated or equivalent in a food discipline
- Product launch process management experience
- Social media skills including presenting on live streams
