YOUR ROLE
Our amazing Project Logistics team based in Altens, Aberdeenshire have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and customer-focused Freight Forwarding Coordinator where you will support our customers with their specialist import and export transportation needs via air and ocean freight.
This pivotal role will be Monday to Friday, based in our Altens office where you will work alongside an experienced team of freight forwarding professionals.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
Reporting on our Project Logistics Operations Manager you will manage end-to-end multi-modal transport coordination ensuring seamless operational and customer service excellence.
Working within a diverse team you will prepare shipping documentation, track shipment progress and ensure clients are updated on service delivery and unexpected delays. You will liaise regularly with suppliers and vendors to ensure the timely delivery of goods and services, building strong working relationships to enable better ways of working.
Acting as the first point of contact for customer queries and handling complaints you will have a natural problem-solving and customer service mindset capable of recommending appropriate solutions in a professional manner. You will also ensure accurate and detailed data entry into our systems, to enable appropriate invoices and billing to clients.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Our ideal candidate will have proven air or ocean freight experience already working in a multi-modal or freight forwarding environment. You will be a strong communicator with the ability to form relationships internally and externally, possess excellent customer service skills, be a logical thinker and natural problem solver who can prioritise their own workload with efficiency and accuracy.
You will also have excellent IT skills capable of utilising specialist freight systems (CargoWise) and MS packages such as Outlook and Excel.
This unique team provides support to our clients who have out-of-gauge transportation requests within the oil and gas industry. Therefore, if you have experience of working in an out-of-gauge, heavy haulage or within the oil and gas industry in a freight forwarding role then this could be the perfect position for you.
