Are you an experienced Test Engineer with a passion for systems integration and verification? We're looking for a Senior Test Engineer to join our dynamic team and play a key role in delivering critical infrastructure projects that support the future of UK National Security.
In this role, you'll lead integration and verification (I&V) activities, working closely with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to plan, design, and execute system integration tests. What You'll Be Doing
- Leading a small team to deliver high-quality testing within key programme areas, ensuring milestones are met.
- Collaborating with the I&V leadership team to manage service delivery, resolve issues, and support planning and reporting.
- Reviewing requirements and design documentation to define comprehensive test scopes.
- Creating and reviewing test plans and designs, ensuring full coverage in collaboration with third-party suppliers.
- Continuously improving testing processes and documentation.
- Producing detailed test reports and tracking progress throughout the testing life cycle.
What We're Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in a senior or lead testing role, with ISTQB Foundation certification.
- Strong understanding of the full testing life cycle, including functional and integration testing.
- Hands-on experience with systems integration, especially involving third-party components.
- Ability to take ownership of testing projects and drive them to completion.
- Skilled in creating test cases from requirements and design documents.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable analysing test evidence and debugging issues across interfaces.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in large-scale, complex integration programmes.
- Familiarity with Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).
- Knowledge of virtualised environments and Real Time, high-integrity systems.
- Understanding of test automation frameworks (eg, keyword-driven).
- Proficiency with tools such as DOORS, JIRA, and HPQC (ALM).
