Are you an Occupational Therapist who specialises in Neurology?

Our NHS client is looking for an experienced and caring Occupational Therapist to join their Neuro Rehab team, based in Ashford, Kent. The post is available to start as soon as possible, offering full-time hours per week on a permanent basis.

The trust offer active, short-term rehabilitation for people who have significant speech, functional or cognitive needs. Individuals each have personal rehabilitation goals and the trust work to a structured therapy programme to help them relearn and practise everyday skills to give them the best chance of a return home.

As a Neuro Rehab Occupational Therapist, you will be a key member of our interdisciplinary team, working to help individuals with neurological injuries or conditions regain their independence and enhance their quality of life. The postholder will be conducting assessments to determine patients’ functional abilities and limitations as well as developing individualized treatment plans to address cognitive, physical, and emotional challenges. Applying therapists must have previous neuro rehab experience.

Rates: Up to £41,585

To be considered for this role you must:

  • Be HCPC registered as an Occupational Therapist
  • Hold the relevant degree/qualifications in Occupational Therapy
  • Have previous experience within an NHS neuro setting
  • Hold a full driver’s licence and have own vehicle
  • Be able to develop a rapport with patients
  • Have excellent time management and communication skills

Duties within this role will include:

  • Carrying out brain injury assessments
  • Working within a multidisciplinary team
  • Providing support for carers and family – advice on care plans after discharge
  • Setting realistic client centred goals to help with development
  • Neuro splinting and casting
