Accountancy Recruit is partnering with a family run shipping company, well established with a loyal client base, in the recruitment of an Accounts Assistant based in Felixstowe. You will become part of a collaborative, supportive team responsible for the day-to-day transactions using Sage 200, including purchase and sales ledger. This is an opportunity to build on your accounts experience and develop your accountancy skills. Duties will include –
- Processing shipping line and haulier invoices.
- Accurate coding and processing supplier invoices.
- Reconcile supplier statements.
- Accurate coding and processing customer invoices.
- Sends statements and copy invoices/credits
- Process banking transactions and reconcile.
- Run aged creditors and debtors.
- Process VAT, duty and freight invoices, ensure immediate payment.
- Assist the Team Leader with month end processes and close.
Requirements & Skills
- Experience of processing day-to-day transactions including purchase ledger
- Team orientated
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise
- Experience of accountancy software; and Excel
Remuneration
- Salary £28-30,000 pa
- Hours: Monday to Friday 8.00 am to 4.30 pm or 9.00 am to 5.30 pm. 37.5-hour week
- Holidays: 25 days holiday Bank holidays (26 after 3 years, 27 after 6 years, from 1st Jan proceeding employmentdate)
- Pension: Employer willpay 9% to company run work-based pension scheme
