Be part of something new and rewarding! We\’re looking for a passionate and experienced Housekeeping Team Leader to help shape the housekeeping service at our brand-new retirement village in West Byfleet.
This is a unique opportunity to lead from the front – building a high-performing team and creating a warm, safe, and beautifully maintained environment for our residents. If you have a keen eye for detail, a caring attitude, and strong leadership experience, we want to hear from you.
The Role
- Leading and overseeing all housekeeping operations, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and safety across resident apartments and communal areas
- Managing a small team of housekeeping staff – setting expectations, providing training, and supporting professional development
- Taking a hands-on approach to support daily housekeeping needs, including covering shifts during holidays or absences
- Ensuring health and safety compliance, including COSHH, and maintaining secure storage and use of cleaning materials
- Working closely with the Village management team to support operational goals and create a warm, welcoming atmosphere for all residents
- Managing laundry services and equipment in line with safety and hygiene standards
- Responding to resident feedback and complaints with professionalism and a commitment to continuous improvement
- Assisting with budget planning, stock control, and tracking of housekeeping service performance
The Ideal Candidate
- Minimum 3 years\’ experience in a housekeeping or cleaning services role, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or team leader capacity
- Strong organisational and leadership skills with the ability to motivate others
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- A genuine desire to support older adults to live well in a clean, comfortable environment
- Good knowledge of health and safety practices, including COSHH
- Experience in hospitality, care, or retirement living is a plus
