The Financials Consultant will “bridge the gap” between the business and technical teams by solving complex Workday intersystem problems. They will be responsible for managing the implementation of Workday Financials solutions for our clients. This role requires a deep understanding of the Workday Financials module and finance processes with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and internal teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end implementation of Workday Financials Record to Report (R2R) or Procure-to-pay (P2P) workstream, including planning, configuration, testing, and deployment.
- Reinforces company policies and procedures to others.
- Helps others by driving, organizing, and assigning tasks within a project workstream in order to drive efficient completion and achieve project goals.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their business requirements and translate them into effective Workday Financials configurations, supporting them through all phases within the project.
- Perform multiple tasks under limited direction, while regularly keeping the client, the project team, and the Engagement Manager abreast of changes or progress related to the project.
- Willingness to take a leadership position on a project, or as a Cognizant or Workday product Partner Lead and/or Delivery Assurance Reviewer.
- Display your hands-on expertise of the software, including loading client data, moving configuration from tenant to tenant, and configuring business processes and security.
- Utilize your technical aptitude to convert and map data sources into data conversion templates.
- Act as a mentor to fellow consultants and analysts, including providing support for shadow assignments.
- Actively participate in update training and internal opportunities to share one’s skills and learnings with others within the organization.
- Additional duties as assigned by manager.
Skills & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of Workday Financials and R2R or P2P experience.
- Proficiency with business processes including: general ledger, budgeting, cash management, grant management, chart of accounts re-design, procure-to-pay, purchase order conversions, expense management, fixed asset management, and/or order-to-cash, required.
- Experience gathering business requirements, designing and prototyping, testing, and implementing practical business solutions under multiple deadlines.
- Workday Financials certification, highly desired.
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment, with a solid commitment to detail.
- Passion for exceptional customer service and customer collaboration.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively manage customer expectations.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint programs.
- Travel to customer site may be required up to 50%.
