WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
This role offers an exciting opportunity to start as a Web Editor, with a pathway to train and progress into the Deputy Editor position. We’re looking for someone eager to grow, develop editorial leadership skills, and take on more responsibility over time.
We are seeking a proactive and talented Website Editor/Deputy Editor who thrives on unearthing the real story behind a press release, feels confident conducting interviews (via phone or Teams), and can turn technical developments into engaging content. If you’re excited by the opportunity to travel internationally, write original features, and make a real editorial impact across a range of dynamic sectors ,from marine electrification to last-mile delivery,we want to hear from you.
This full-time, permanent role is based in Dorking, Surrey, with a minimum of three days a week in the office.
THE ROLE:
As Website Editor, you’ll oversee the day-to-day content management of four industry-leading websites:
Passenger Terminal Today
Parcel and Postal Technology International
Electric & Hybrid Marine Technology International
Meteorological Technology International
You’ll be responsible for:
Sourcing, writing, and posting daily news with sharp headlines and clear structure
Writing original, multi-voice features based on interviews and independent research
Interviewing leading experts and senior executives
Commissioning opinion pieces and curating relevant video content
Monitoring article performance using Google Analytics
Supporting freelance contributors with SEO and editorial guidance
Sourcing and crediting images appropriately
Managing editorial newsletters (email and LinkedIn)
Attending international expos and press trips for live reporting and interviews
Supporting marketing through editorial content and social media
As Deputy Editor of Passenger Terminal World magazine, you will also:
Pitch and develop news stories, case studies, infographics, and cover concepts
Use InDesign to template and proof magazine pages
Collaborate with the sales team to support advertorial and sponsored content
Manage client content and oversee flatplans for both digital and print
Lead the production of the annual flagship showcase publication from flatplan creation and commissioning to final sign-off
ABOUT YOU:
You’ll bring a strong editorial background and a passion for digital content. You should be comfortable working independently and collaboratively, and enjoy keeping on top of fast-moving industry trends.

Editorial expertise: You can write compelling news stories, features, and social posts, and know how to commission and edit great content.
News sense: You know how to find and develop stories — not just repeat them.
Research-driven: You use tools like Google Analytics to track performance and improve engagement.
Collaborative mindset: You work well with marketing, design, sales, and event teams to align editorial goals with wider business objectives.
Event ready: You’re willing and able to travel for expos and conferences, conducting interviews and reporting live.
Attention to detail: You hold high editorial standards and follow house style rigorously.
Excellent communication: You communicate clearly and confidently — both in writing and in person.
Organised and adaptable: You manage multiple deadlines efficiently and stay calm under pressure.
Tech-savvy: You’re proficient with WordPress, InDesign, Google Analytics, Microsoft Office, and eager to learn new tools.
