Purpose of the Role

Join the Manufacturing team as a Technical Manager within Business & Strategic Planning where you will manage the functional content of Production Planning on future PHEV and BEV projects across all technologies and locations, with a focus on Volkswagen Group partners, and play a pivotal role in delivering our vehicle projects to time, cost and quality. Reporting into the Head of Business & Strategic Planning, your main responsibilities include:

  • Support the industrialisation strategy for PHEV and BEV models across all locations with a focus on Volkswagen Group partners and approval forums.
  • Steering of Group and Bentley internal partners in terms of technical and financial feasibility in readiness of approval forums.
  • Responsible for developing and influencing the Manufacturing industrialisation strategy in alignment with cross-functional stakeholders, e.g. Product Line, Purchase and Finance.
  • Responsibility to ensure factual and effective communication is provided at all levels, including within all cross-functional working teams.
  • Ability to demonstrate deliverables status at any time with Key Performance Indicators.
  • Advising and reporting to the Senior Leadership team on project status.

About The Team

The Business & Strategic Planning department is responsible for the central steering of strategic target setting, deriving vehicle project industrialisation concepts, financial evaluations and forecasting, process definition, and Volkswagen Group collaboration in the early project phases within Manufacturing.

With our Group partners from VW, Audi, Lamborghini and Porsche, we are aligning on investment for the delivery of future products and facilities , and we are leading the negotiation for production premises and production locations for the whole vehicle.

About You – Skills And Experience

  • Excellent communication skills combined with the ability to collaborate and influence with others and deliver results through a broad range of stakeholders.
  • An understanding of Manufacturing department’s deliverables and the supporting functions interdependencies.
  • Project management skills with the ability to effectively plan, organise, prioritise and manage multiple projects in parallel.
  • Experience of managing cross-functional teams of people, with the ability to connect internal resources to work collaboratively on projects.
  • Proactive, resilient in the face of adversity and act as a role model at all times.
  • Experience within Volkswagen Group or similar global players is desirable.
