Purpose of Role

We are currently looking to recruit a Senior Maintenance Technician (Fibre Engineer) with hands-on experience to work on a defence contract within Central London.

Job Description

This position will be responsible for the whole of the fibre optic systems onsite including the Installing, terminating, and testing.

Responsibilities

  • Working with copper and fibre infrastructure
  • Following on-site safety and quality standard
  • Familiarity with fibre connection, splicing techniques, and fibre infrastructure management.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, network designs, and work packs.
  • High standards of health and safety awareness and a commitment to operational procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Install, terminating, splice, and test fibre optic cables within the network infrastructure.
  • Build and maintain fibre optic infrastructure
  • Always ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Interpret and follow job packs, technical diagrams, and fibre network schematics.
  • Working with copper and fibre infrastructure

Essential Qualifications/Skills

  • Previous experience of working as a Fibre Engineer/Data Cable Engineer
  • City and guilds Communications Cabling and Networks (3667)
  • Must hold active High Level Security Clearance/ Or recently lapsed High Level Security Clearance
  • Must be a UK Sole National and be prepared to undergo any further clearance process.
  • Exceptional communication skills as you will need to interface with clients, sub-contractors, designers and customer as well as other building occupants
