We’re looking for

a Night Transport Coordinator to join us on a full-time, permanent basis at our Wakefield site, on the 9.30pm to 6am shifts, Monday to Friday.

Pay, benefits and more:

We’re offering a salary of up to £33,500. Benefits include 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), with the option to buy additional days, high street discounts, cycle to work scheme, workplace pension, and other perks.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  1. Ensure drivers are dispatched, and the plan is managed and executed to meet delivery and collection SLAs, including remedial planning for live changes.
  2. Follow all processes and procedures to ensure a safe and efficient environment.
  3. Support the Site Manager in compliance and legal obligations during your shift.
  4. Liaise with stakeholders to optimize vehicle and subcontractor use.
  5. Manage VOR / Defect processes and keep logs up to date.
  6. Arrange breakdown repairs for vehicles or trailers.
  7. Act as the initial site response person in incidents, liaising with managers.
  8. Escalate vehicle accident details to line management.

What you need to succeed at XPO:

  1. Experience working in a fast-paced environment where adaptability is essential.
  2. Previous experience in a complex, time-critical logistics environment.
  3. Proven transport experience with understanding of compliance, driver hours, and incident investigations.
  4. Computer literacy for email communication, driver dispatch, and daily handovers.
  5. Transport experience with C+E drivers is beneficial.
  6. Good geographical knowledge of the UK.
  7. Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements.
