About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced bookkeeper to join our busy accountancy practice. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our clients with accurate financial record-keeping, VAT returns, and management accounts. This is a client-facing role requiring strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Key Responsibilities Maintain accurate financial records for a portfolio of clients. Process invoices, receipts, payments, and bank reconciliations. Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with HMRC deadlines. Assist with the preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts. Liaise with clients to resolve queries and gather financial information. Support accountants with year-end accounts preparation. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. Use accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar. Essential Skills & Experience Proven experience in a bookkeeping role, ideally within an accountancy practice. Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and VAT. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. Ability to manage multiple client deadlines. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Desirable Qualifications AAT Level 3 or above (or equivalent).
