Senior Transport Planner
Location: Ridham, Sittingbourne
Salary: Competitive
Job Type: Permanent, Full time
Working Hours: Monday – Friday 8 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. (flexibility needed to be available out of hours due to contract requirements)

Countrystyle is a dynamic, privately owned resource management and waste recycling business. As part of our partnership with Southern Water, Countrystyle Recycling supplies haulage services for the movement of filter cake across Kent, Sussex and Hampshire. These core services are delivered with a focus on sustainability, operational efficiency, and a commitment to exceptional service.
About The Role
As the largest Rollon provider in Kent, you will work closely with our Rollon supervisor. This planner position will focus solely on planning our Southern Water contract.
Responsibilities
- Review, allocate and schedule jobs for the Roll‑on fleet to maximize operational and logistical performance, using the company’s planning and operating systems.
- Liaise with drivers regularly to ensure effective vehicle resources, safe operations.
- Support optimisation of fleet resources and operations to improve profitability and customer service, ensuring KPIs are met.
- Implement road transport compliance policies, standards and procedures.
- Manage a team of drivers in line with company policies, including disciplinary matters when necessary.
- Communicate with internal stakeholders and external customers to resolve service queries.
- Ensure queries within the transport operation are handled timely and per service level agreements.
- Ensure fleet vehicles are available and compliant for scheduled services.
- Coordinate with fleet workshops for maintenance of vehicle defects raised by drivers.
- Enter accurate job requests into the job system.
- Coordinate with the Fleet Compliance team on road transport incidents.
- Coordinate with the Health & Safety team on personal injury incidents and risk assessments.
- Distribute compliance toolbox talks to drivers as per policy.
- Ensure staff follow health and safety duties and report unsafe conditions.
- Cooperate, report unsafe conditions, comply with management systems and safe work procedures to meet legal requirements.
