RMS is collaborating with a prestigious automotive client, and we are seeking several experienced and competent drivers and vehicle inspectors to join our dedicated team. Our client is renowned for their comprehensive vehicle services, including storage, inspection, maintenance, dispatch, and transportation. - Type: Flexible Ongoing
- Working Hours: Weekly shift rotation of 06.00am-2.00pm/ 2.00pm-10.00pm (3-5 shifts per week)
Flexibility is required as weekend work IS a requirement of the client as they manufacture vehicles 24/7, the shifts on a Saturday and Sunday are 6.00am to 6.00pm and staff predominantly work one of the days every other weekend. However, if we complete the daily volume early, we do send you home but must be available for the full shift.
- Salary: £11.46 per hour
About the role?
Working under the supervision and co-ordination of the Site Manager and Team Leader, you will be required to perform various inspection checks on newly manufactured vehicles, completing a full Pre-Delivery Inspection, including compound handling, to prepare them for dealerships.
Key responsibilities of the Role:
- To carry out safe vehicle movements in a multifaceted compound setting.
- To comply with the correct parking procedures and site speed limits.
- To conduct pre-delivery Inspections in accordance with company quality standards.
- To preform appropriate safety testing of vehicle settings.
- To support with vehicle fuelling
- To support with valeting vehicles – internally and externally.
- To complete documentation of all inspection paperwork and report any discrepancies to the compound team leader.
- To ensure health & safety procedures are adhered at all times.
- Undertake other duties as directed commensurate with the level of the job function.
The primary function of this role operates outdoors in a large automotive compound facility. Its associated duties are conducted in varying weather conditions throughout the year (PPE is provided to support such tasks). As you will be expected to store and transport vehicles in an outdoor logistics facility which also involves moderate amounts of general walking throughout the working day.
About you?
- To be successful, you must be over 25 years old, possess a valid driver’s license with fewer than 6 penalty points, and have no DR10 offenses for insurance purposes.
- To succeed in this role, candidates must be able to work the specified shift times above.
- To succeed in this role, you will need to pass an onsite drivers’ assessment and a pre-employment drug & alcohol test prior to starting.
- The ideal candidate will be confident in their driving and have experience with automatic and manual vehicles.
- The ideal candidate will have a level headed approach. This is required when driving vehicles to ensure the safety of yourself & your colleagues.
- The ideal candidate will have basic understanding of health and safety and cooperate with managers to comply with Health & Safety regulations.
