An opportunity to play your part – We are seeking a talented Innovation Designer Lead to drive the design and delivery of cutting-edge innovation projects within Centrica\’s Digital Technology Services, focusing on user-centric solutions that advance our mission of building a greener, fairer future. To lead a team of innovation designers/product managers, orchestrating the end-to-end innovation process from problem discovery through to successful deployment of solutions. The Innovation Designer Lead will have deep knowledge and experience with design thinking, Lean start-up, and other creativity and innovation methodologies, as well as strong experience in ideation, prototyping, and product development. Location: We have a hybrid-work environment, where you will be predominantly home-based but required to travel to office-sites as and when required We have tailored our well-being & benefits package around our employees as follows: Competitive salary and bonus potential Car allowance Employee Energy Allowance at 15% of the government price cap Pension scheme Company Funded Healthcare Plan 25 days holiday allowance, plus public holidays, and the option to buy up to 5 additional days Excellent range of flexible benefits, including technology vouchers, electric car lease scheme & travel insurance On a day-to-day basis you will Lead and mentor a team of innovation designers Foster a culture of design thinking and user-centred innovation Establish robust service design processes, standards, and best practices Own the double diamond innovation process from discovery through to productionisation Lead discovery workshops and user research activities to identify opportunities Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between design, development, and business teams Build strong relationships with business unit stakeholders Present innovation concepts and progress to senior leadership Help shape the innovation strategy and portfolio Identify emerging trends and opportunities in energy sector innovation What we need from you: Experience in product design, innovation, or similar roles Proven track record leading product and service teams and managing stakeholders Expert knowledge of design thinking, lean startup, and agile methodologies Experience with rapid prototyping and MVP development Excellent communication and presentation skills – Experience mentoring and developing team members Demonstrated skills in presenting new ideas and managing conflicts within the team Excellent time management skills with the ability to juggle the roles of leading, producing, and managing Experience within the energy sector is advantageous Our commitment to diversity We are proud to be recognised as a disability-confident employer.
