Retail Security Officer

This role is located in St Helens, United Kingdom. You will be expected to work 30 hours per week in a shift pattern of Thursday, Friday, Saturday 12:00-22:00. The hourly rate is £12.50.

Base pay range

Hourly rate: £12.50 per hour. Full pay will be based on skills and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Patrol the shop floor and deter criminal activity.
  • Assess and identify vulnerabilities and work proactively to minimise risk.
  • Liaise with management and local authorities when applicable.
  • Manage vulnerable persons with empathy to avoid distress.
  • Complete colleague and contractor searches when required in line with company policy.
  • Digitally report incidents and use tablets/phones for daily activity planning.
  • Provide detailed and legible incident reporting to assist the client and local authorities.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Valid SIA Guarding or SIA Door Supervisor licence.
  • Previous retail security experience is an advantage but not essential; full training will be given.
  • Full 5‑year checkable work or back‑to‑school history required.
  • Must bring right‑to‑work documents and proof of address to interview.
