Duty Manager – The Old Market Village, Wimborne
McCarthy Stone is seeking a professional Duty Manager to join their team at their prestigious new development, The Old Market Village in Wimborne.
Set within generous grounds surrounded by countryside, this retirement village in Dorset features apartments and bungalows, including three-bedroom chalet-style bungalows, around a village green. It offers amenities such as a homeowners’ lounge, on-site bistro, landscaped gardens, guest suite, lifestyle and care services, and wellness facilities including fitness studios and a hair and beauty salon—providing everything for a joyful retirement.
This is not traditional care; this is better!
Salary: £11.44/hour day rate and £14.02/hour sleeping night rate, plus additional pay (see below)
Hours: 33.5 per week, including day and night shifts
Day shifts vary between 08:45-16:30 and 16:15-09:30; night shifts are from 21:30-09:00. Duty Managers sleep from 23:00-07:00, providing emergency support as needed.

About the Role
We are seeking a professional Duty Manager to uphold high customer standards and support the management of a vibrant community of active, independent older adults. You will ensure residents\’ safety and wellbeing, oversee the Care and Support teams, and promote community activities.
About You
You will be warm, friendly, organized, and self-motivated, with experience in care or support environments and excellent care skills.
Ideally, you will hold a QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care (Adults), though relevant experience and alternative qualifications will be considered.
You will be responsible for managing security, safety, and wellbeing, and fostering community spirit within the development.
You should be proactive, able to think quickly, and committed to making a positive difference in the lives of older people.
