Patient/client care: Act as a clinical and professional role model, assessing and supporting students and learners on placement within the clinical area. Work collaboratively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families. Maintain accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care programmes. Coordinate discharge arrangements according to NGH Discharge Policy.

Educate patients and carers as needed. Complete patient documentation accurately. Maintain a safe ward environment. Assist in establishing and monitoring protocols and care pathways.

Promote effective communication, ensuring patient confidentiality. Supervise junior staff in care delivery. Responsible for the safe handling of medications, including controlled drugs.

Undertake expanded roles following Trust policies. Participate in induction, competency programs, and annual appraisals. Develop personal learning plans, identify training needs, and contribute to clinical supervision and evidence-based practice.

Manage resources efficiently, including equipment and budget considerations. Support staff development and training. Engage in research and quality improvement initiatives.

Maintain professional knowledge, skills, and awareness of clinical developments. Contribute to audit and research activities within the department.
