Overview
You will be responsible for escorting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) from their homes to school or college. We are looking to appoint enthusiastic and flexible casual passenger assistants who are approachable, friendly, and always there with a smile.
Responsibilities
- Escort students with SEN or SEND to their school/college provision.
- Act as a calm and reliable presence on a vehicle during split‑shift operations.
- Work closely with passengers as a team player, ensuring their care, comfort and safety on the vehicle.
- Provide transport before and after school on a casual basis, term time only.
Key Requirements
- Must live within or very near the Salford boundary, or be able to reach a collection/drop‑off point within that boundary.
- Available for short notice work, often early in the morning, and on a casual, term‑time schedule.
- Good communication and care skills; calm under pressure.
- Subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The cost (currently £49.50) will be deducted from your first four months of salary at a rate of £12.38 per month. If you do not commence employment after the DBS has been processed, you will be invoiced £49.50.
- If you have lived or worked abroad for 3 months or more in the last 5 years (or 12 months or more in the last 10 years) you will need to obtain a Certificate of Good Character. Refer to https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/criminal-records-checks-for-overseas-applicants for details.
