We are looking for a talented and detail-focused CAD Designer to join our Manufacturing Operations team at Flexeserve, a leading manufacturer of hot-holding equipment and an employee-owned business. The Role
Based at our brand Flexeserve, at the Hinckley site in Leicestershire, you will support the full lifecycle of our industry-leading products. This includes managing engineering changes, maintaining accurate CAD and MRP data, and supporting cross-functional teams with cost-saving and range expansion initiatives.
You’ll be involved in a broad mix of activities, including 3D modelling, 2D drawing creation, configuration management, product cost review, and supporting the resolution of technical issues. You’ll work independently, but as part of a highly supportive and collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities
- 3D modelling – creation and modification of parts and assemblies in SolidWorks with consideration of design for manufacture (in house and at suppliers) – Sheet metal parts, Machined parts, Electrical assemblies (drawing cable harness assemblies)
- 2D drawing creation – creation and modification of drawings for parts and assemblies.
- Building configurations – creation of 3D configurations in SolidWorks and liked to Epicor via CADlink.
- MRP item masters – creation and checking item master data in Epicor.
- ECR documentation – completing the internal process.
- Check and release – buddy check/part of the check and release procedure.
About You
- Relevant qualification/apprenticeship in Engineering or equivalent industry experience
- Proficient in SolidWorks (3D and 2D), including sheet metal design
- Strong understanding of engineering design and manufacturing processes
- Experience creating and modifying part and assembly drawings
- Confident working with MRP/ERP systems and configuration tools
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Familiarity with CADLink and Epicor (or similar systems)
- Experience in costing, supplier discussions, and basic project coordination
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of ASANA (task management) is an advantage but not essential
