This is an exciting opportunity for a Data Management Lead to join YHG\’s collaborative Data and Business Intelligence Team.
As a Data Management Lead within our Data and Business Intelligence Team, you will play a crucial role in leading data professionals and influencing business stakeholders to embed our Data Governance Framework and Data Management capabilities, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and readiness for AI. You will have access to the latest technologies and the collective expertise of a talented team.
We seek an individual passionate about data management, aiming to position YHG as a leader in Data Management excellence within the social housing sector.
What will my working week look like?
You will work remotely, residing within the North West, with reasonable travel to our Head Office in Warrington, approximately 2-4 times a month.
What will I be responsible for?
You will collaborate with the Data and Business Intelligence team and YHG Data Community to develop and implement best practices for data governance and quality across all business areas.
You will work closely with Data Owners and Stewards, leading Data Governance Working Groups and participating in the Data Governance Committee.
Your responsibilities include leading data governance initiatives, issue remediation, data quality assurance, metadata management, and data lifecycle processes.
This role offers the opportunity to work across various organizational areas, building on existing foundations.
Additional responsibilities include:
• Building impactful Data Management capabilities with technologies like Business Glossaries, Data Catalogues, and Data Lineage, in collaboration with SMEs.
• Leading DM service delivery in line with budgets, standards, and governance frameworks.
• Developing and delivering DM solutions and roadmaps aligned with business and data strategies.
• Establishing and managing a Group data management capability covering governance, cataloguing, and quality, ensuring compliance.
• Developing policies and guidance for data changes and daily management.

To succeed as a Data Management Lead at YHG, you will have:
- Knowledge of best practices (e.g., DAMA DMBOK) and their practical application across the data lifecycle.
- An analytical, framework-driven approach to building data quality rules in collaboration with SMEs.
- A deep understanding of data principles (types, classification, integrity, consistency) and structures (relational databases, ETL/ELT, APIs).
- Proven experience designing and implementing data management frameworks.
- Experience managing Data Analysts, providing technical leadership and operational oversight.
- Advanced skills in T-SQL and confidence with visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, Excel, and PowerPoint.
