Hayward Hawk is delighted to be working in partnership with one of NI\’s largest Law Firms to source a Finance Assistant to join their finance team. The successful candidate will report to the Finance Manager and will play a key role in supporting the daily banking and transactional activity of the business. This is an excellent opportunity to join a professional and collaborative finance function within a dynamic and growing organisation.
The Role

Maintain accurate and up-to-date bank records

Input, post, and co-authorise electronic payments to meet daily deadlines

Liaise with internal teams and external banking partners to record and track incoming funds

Process client cash, direct debits, and supplier payments

Issue and print daily cheques

Complete daily bank reconciliations across multiple accounts

Arrange and process foreign currency payments
-
Support treasury functions by transferring funds between accounts as needed

Resolve payment-related queries with banks, solicitors, clients, and government bodies

Monitor and manage the shared finance inbox, ensuring timely responses

Work collaboratively with team members to address queries and requests

Provide cover and support across the finance team when required
The Person

At least 2 years’ experience in a busy finance or transactional role with tight deadlines – ideally within a legal/professional services background

Strong organisational and communication skills

High level of accuracy and attention to detail

Ability to manage your own workload and prioritise effectively

A team player with a flexible, can-do attitude

Proactive and able to use initiative to keep work progressing
