We are currently looking for an enthusiastic person to join our library team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for helping to deliver a wide range of library and information services, promoting the library and engaging with the community.
Main duties include:
- Welcoming users, enrolling new members, processing stock, issuing and returning loans, dealing with requests, and satisfying general enquiries.
- Assisting with events and activities at the library.
- Promoting digital skills and providing support for users.
- Providing community information, including health and wellbeing.
- Working with the library team to promote reading and literacy.
- Assisting in the day-to-day running of the library.
Experience required:
- Working with the public, preferably in a library or customer service environment.
- Working as part of a team.
Ideally, you will have:
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- The ability to undertake routine tasks successfully.
- A good knowledge of ICT and the ability to support library users.
- A minimum of 4 GCSEs (Grade A-C) or equivalent, including English Language.
- A positive approach to organising, running, and supporting activities and events in the library to support the wider community.
As part of the team, you will be required to work Saturdays, for which an enhanced rate of pay will be provided.
The successful candidate should be flexible with hours of work and location.
