Band 6 – SCPHN Health Visitor

Redbridge invites applications for a Band 6 Health Visitor to join an innovative 0‑19 skilled mix team. This role focuses on improving outcomes for children, young people and their families across Redbridge and reducing health inequalities.

Responsibilities

  • Practice autonomy and teamwork: Work independently and as part of an integrated skill‑mix team, applying clinical and public health knowledge.
  • Communication and partnership: Demonstrate excellent communication skills and experience of working in partnership across organisational boundaries.
  • Lead change in service delivery and support the organization of services.
  • Undertake mandated contacts according to the Healthy Child Programme and manage a caseload that includes both universal and targeted families.
  • Support the safeguarding agenda and provide supervision for colleagues and students.

Induction & Development

All new starters begin on the first Monday of each month and undergo up to two weeks of induction, including mandatory training, systems training, equipment allocation, and meet‑ups with senior managers and executive staff. A Preceptorship Programme is available for newly qualified practitioners, alongside continuous professional development through in‑house and external training, clinical supervision and mentorship.

Compensation & Benefits

  • High‑Cost Area Supplement of 15 % of basic salary (pro‑rata for part‑time staff: £4,714 – £5,941).
  • Part‑time opportunities available.
  • Licensing: The Trust is a registered sponsor but currently does not offer sponsorship for this role.
