The Category Leader for Northern European Distributor Markets (NEDM) supports the commercial / sales function of NEDM, delivering profitable growth plans, designing and delivering the category management model approach at cluster and country (Nordics) level. The role develops and executes the Category and Trade Marketing plans for the Nordics markets, provides guidance to Distributors and delivers consumer and shopper activation plans across all touchpoints.

What your role is

Market Strategy & Revenue Growth:

  • Lead in the development of the Category vision/strategy maximising local (Nordics) consumer/shopper insights according to the local (Nordics) trade scene.
  • Partner with the NEDM sales and marketing team to establish targets and standardise tracking of Sales Fundamentals: More Stores, Better Stores, Bigger Impact.
  • Lead in market analysis to identify and capitalise on growth opportunities, optimising pricing, promotions, assortment, and distribution strategies.
  • Develop and implement revenue management initiatives to maximise profitability.
  • Define the local (Nordics) portfolio/pipeline with the Marketing team. Build the assortment and distribution strategy, deploying the assortment prioritisation by channel/customer.

In-Store Excellence & Trade Collaboration:

  • Drive best-in-class in-store execution and brand visibility across NEDM markets, ensuring optimal shelf space and impactful promotional activities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key distributors’ partners, effectively communicating brand and category initiatives to achieve superior in-store results.
  • Continuously monitor and optimise in-store performance, adapting plans as needed to maximise ROI.
  • Contribute to GM\’s overall Category and Point-of-Purchase vision.

Strategic Communication & Reporting:

  • Develop and deliver compelling presentations and reports for internal and external stakeholders, effectively communicating market insights, strategic plans, and performance results.
  • Manage the implementation of brand advertising plans.
  • Lead and manage a team of two direct reports, providing clear guidance, performance management, and professional development support.

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Category Management professional with 8–10 years of proven success, ideally within a multinational or FMCG environment. You thrive in dynamic settings and bring a hands-on, proactive approach to driving growth and innovation. Your broad commercial acumen and visionary thinking enable you to understand the bigger picture, positioning Category Management as a key driver of business success.

You bring deep knowledge of the distributor model and have a strong track record of working effectively within multifunctional teams and complex matrix structures. Your analytical mindset and numeracy skills allow you to uncover insights, spot trends, and translate data into clear, actionable recommendations that deliver results.
