An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Radiology team as a specialist nurse to support the provision of interventional procedures.

Candidates with no previous experience in interventional radiology will be considered. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the ability to learn new skills and work independently following training in a range of interventional procedures.

They should demonstrate excellent team-working and interpersonal skills and deliver a high standard of care to all patients.

The post holder will be an autonomous, independent practitioner in accordance with defined protocols. They will provide specialist advice and training to healthcare professionals and multidisciplinary teams.

They will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day, smooth running of the radiology specialist and interventional room(s).

The successful candidate will assist radiologists and advanced practitioner radiographers during interventional procedures.

Additionally, the post holder will provide specialist nursing care and advice to staff and patients on all aspects of the interventional radiology service to maximize learning opportunities, education, and resources.

The post holder will monitor and improve standards of care through clinical audit, evidence-based practice, teaching, supporting professional colleagues, and providing skilled professional leadership.

There will also be a responsibility to drive service improvement in line with clinical, quality, and service standards.

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust now form University Hospitals Tees, and you may be required to work at any site across both Trusts.
