With multiple sites in Shalford, Dunsfold, Warwick and a new purpose-built HQ in Windlesham, the Gordon Murray Automotive team continues to grow with multiple vehicle programmes currently in development. As a result, we currently have exciting opportunities for a Material Controller to join our Team based in Shalford / Windlesham.
Purpose Of The Role
Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain this presents an exciting opportunity an individual who wants to drive significant impact on the way Supply Chain is considered within Gordon Murray Automotive and is dedicated to the future growth of the business. The attributes of this role mean that the individual is expected to work under their own initiative leading their team within a high-pressured environment and in line with the task landscape to ensure success.

Key Responsibilities
- Accountable for all aspects of supplier logistics quality thereby ensuring the efficient and effective inbound flow of material to the GMA warehouse.
- Managing appropriate processes with the suppliers for the early identification, communication and mitigation of supply risk.
- Able to represent supply chain risks and opportunities at internal management reviews
- Able to use MRP (IFS) to balance demand and supply, creating a delivery plan that satisfies the combined requirements of production, development, and any other sources, keeping inventory within approved limits. Reduce obsolescence and inventory holding to company targets.
- The point of contact for your assigned suppliers and the related material availability concerns within the organisation.
- Able to adopt an approach of continuous improvement for both internal processes and supplier logistics quality with your suppliers.
- Managing your supply base against defined KPIs to support business improvement.
- Supporting Engineering in the effective implementation of new parts, ensuring MRP demand is accurate and coordinating the appropriate run out and ramp up of stock to ensure minimum financial impact due to part obsolescence.
- Conducting scenario modelling to assess the impact of changes to demand and supply and to work with stakeholders to agree and implement a plan which will obtain optimal results.
- Owning and managing MRP parameter data to deliver the correct inventory levels and stability to GMA`s Operations.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Confident in dealing with stakeholders, both internally and externally, in ensuring the requirements of the department and wider business are met.
- Understanding of Automotive OEM supply chains and supplier manufacturing processes.
- Structured and organised approach to the management of work.
- Experience of working with MRP and or IFS is desirable personal Attributes.
- Delivery focused – with demonstrable track record of on-time delivery.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to build good relationships at all levels, internally and externally.
- Resilient, able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Unquestionable personal and professional integrity.
- Strong excel and data interpretation skills.
- Comprehensive grasp of planning principles and objectives.
