About the Employer: With a head office based just outside London, this RC frame & groundwork specialist currently turns over around £30 million per annum, with individual packages ranging from £1m up to £10m each. This company is privately owned with an MD who remains hands-on, making sure standards are maintained and the business continues to grow. The company has a strong team, with every member of the management structure working together towards common goals. The senior team quite often refer to the business as a well-oiled machine, where each cog has a vital part to play. They are proud of their ability to secure a lot of their work through repeat business, as clients prefer to come back to them to negotiate future projects rather than the business just having to win work at open tender stages with aggressive pricing strategies. This business has plans in place to grow to £50m turnover over the next 3 years, and they have the bank balance, client list, and capability to meet that target. As a Contracts Manager within this team, your role will focus on precontract and post-contract activities, taking on projects once they are secured and managing a selection of sites through to completion. Good management and operational skills need to be shown along with the technical knowledge gained from an engineering background, and again, a strong amount of experience in this role with a rival business. You will report directly to the MD of the business, and the opportunity to progress into a Construction Director\’s role exists. About the Opportunity: I have been asked to find a Contracts Manager for this business to add additional support to the management structure. Currently, this business is turning over around £30 million per annum and with a large proportion of work around the London area. They need to recruit a contracts manager to help support this workload. It is crucial that suitable applicants have experience of working for rival concrete frame and groundwork subcontractors to be considered. I would like to add that this business is still growing year on year. About the Salary / Benefits: Packages are always based on individuals’ backgrounds and experience, but as a rough guide, I have been told to target people earning anywhere from £110,000 to £130,000 per annum. This can be broken down in a number of ways, and this business is open to people on a PAYE or self-employed basis. Bonuses are available as well as the usual fringe benefits. About the Requirements: I am looking for an individual who is degree qualified in civil engineering and has already progressed through the ranks up through project management to an existing contracts management level. You may have recently stepped up to this level or may have been doing it for a number of years, but it is crucial that you have come from this sector background and have gained this technical management experience while working in the subcontract concrete frame and groundwork market
