ROLE: Buyer SALARY: Up to £50,000 DOE LOCATION: Worcestershire THE COMPANY: Red Rock is recruiting on behalf of a well-established and rapidly growing business within the foodservice and wholesale industry. Known for their strong supplier partnerships and commitment to delivering high-quality products, the company services a wide range of clients across the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic procurement team in a critical buying role, where your expertise in sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier relationships will directly contribute to the company\’s continued success. BENEFITS: * Competitive salary based on experience * Annual bonus * 28 days annual leave * Monday to Friday hours (06:30 – 15:30), 1 in 3 weekends * Employee discount * Opportunities for long-term progression and career development DUTIES: * Source products in line with company quality and pricing goals * Negotiate supplier contracts, pricing, and terms * Track market trends and seasonal availability to inform purchasing decisions * Forecast demand using market insights and sales data * Manage stock levels to avoid shortages or excess inventory * Work with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure efficient delivery * Maintain and build strong supplier relationships, including audits and evaluations * Ensure full compliance with food safety standards * Align procurement with customer demand by working closely with Sales * Prepare and manage procurement budgets * Identify new sourcing opportunities and support seasonal/promotional campaigns * Resolve supply issues including delays or quality concerns THE CANDIDATE: * Experience in buying, procurement, or a similar purchasing role * Ideally experience within the foodservice and wholesale industry * Strong negotiation, communication, and supplier management skills * In-depth understanding of seasonal produce cycles and market dynamics * Confident using inventory software and Microsoft Office applications * Organised and detail-oriented with strong analytical skills * Able to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines * Knowledge of food safety regulations and compliance standards * Willingness to travel for supplier visits and trade events * Existing network within the fresh produce industry is advantageous * Understanding of logistics and supply chain processes Immediate interviews are taking place – apply today to avoid missing out
