Role summary: Accountable for developing and delivering a community-based falls prevention exercise programme across South Oxfordshire. Using your knowledge of falls prevention and exercise delivery to deliver in person class-based exercise to support older adults to reduce their risk of falls and increasing their levels of Physical Activity. Enabling them to maintain their physical and mental wellbeing, strength, and balance and to ‘live longer better.’

The role supports the delivery of one of our key strategic goals: “Understand how inequalities develop as we get older, and work to prevent their impact on health and wellbeing.”

Hours: 21 hours a week. Working, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Contract is: Permanent contract.

Job description: Reporting to our Physical Activity Manager the postholder will play a key role in enabling us to achieve our bold falls prevention ambitions.

Duties will include;

1. Responsible for and delivery of falls prevention classes and education, and community exercise provision across South Oxfordshire.
2. Predominately through telephone calls, triaging referred clients to ensure they are signposted and enrolled to the most appropriate intervention.
3. Working closely with clients to maintain attendance, conducting baseline and completion assessments, alongside providing advice and signposting.
4. Collate and maintain accurate participant, attendance, and outcome records in accordance with organisation and funders requirements.
5. Ensure Health & Safety is maintained at all delivery venues and to act as an Emergency First Aider should the need arise.
6. Contribute to the continued development of a vibrant, engaging, and successful physical activity service.
