As a Management Development Trainer, you’ll be the driving force behind the growth and development of our restaurant managers, helping them reach their full potential!
You’ll be the key link between day-to-day management training, our area managers and the central training team, ensuring every manager gets the tools they need to launch their career in Hickory’s.
With a dedicated area of restaurants under your wing, you’ll take ownership of the training journey for all managers in those venues, making sure that they are keeping the Hickory’s culture at the heart of everything they do, from onboarding all the way through their career.
Your role is all about actively inspiring and developing talent, making sure every manager feels supported and ready to succeed.
This role isn’t just about the day to day skills fo being a manager in a restaurant, it is just as important that you are inspiring and role modelling the Hickory’s culture in every action and interaction, making sure that our ethos of Southern Hospitality is engrained into every manager as part of their DNA.
What You\’ll Do:
Team Development
- Be the ultimate brand ambassador, embodying our culture and values with a positive attitude every day.
- Champion and deliver an industry leading Manager In Training (MIT) programme that inspires and engages, brings our Hickory’s culture to life and creates superstar managers that support the business growth and succession.
- Represent the brand as an expert, creating exciting initiatives, engaging on social media (HUB), and spotting opportunities to enhance the guest and team experience.
- Be a role model! A cultural ambassador that never accepts excuses or second best. As a champion of high standards, professionalism, and the 5-star experience, you\’ll inspire everyone around you.
- Lead ‘Orientation Days’ for new managers, ensuring they feel welcomed and excited to join the team.
- Oversee management training programs, working with managers and the Learning and Development team to assess training needs and create action plans.
- Design and deliver training programmes and masterclasses that will supporet the growth and development of MITs and management teams.
- Support and develop Management In-Store Trainers (MIST’s) to deliver impactful training in restaurants for MITs and existing management teams.
- Review training weekly to provide feedback and make adjustments as needed, ensuring all managers stay on track.
- Ensure all managers complete their online learning modules.
Guest Experience
- Train and coach team members, new and seasoned, on everything from southern hospitality to running a section like a pro.
- Be a role model for delivering outstanding guest service and southern hospitality, whether it’s during a masterclass or a simple smoker tour.
- Review guest experiences, analyse feedback, and refine training programs to ensure every guest has a memorable visit.
- Work with management teams to ensure that Managers In Training (MITs) have training programmes built that meet their learning needs in a way that will build a pipeline of future stars.
- Support MISTs in designing training plans for MITs that flex around their individual learning needs and the requirements of the business.
- Partner with management teams to support ‘How’s It Going’ chats, probation meetings, and recruitment of new managers.
- Drive the progress of NPS scores within restaurants by encouraging a culture of feedback and improvement.
