Overview
Due to continued company expansion, B&M are seeking an experienced Visual Merchandising Manager to lead the development and execution of compelling in-store visual merchandising across all retail formats. This role is central to delivering a consistent, customer-focused brand experience while driving conversion and space productivity.
You will translate seasonal, commercial, and marketing objectives into clear VM guidelines and planograms, working closely with Buying, Merchandising, Marketing, Store Design, and Format Planning teams to ensure effective and timely execution across the store estate.
Thisis a full time, office-based position at our Support Centre in Speke.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Lead the creation and communication of visual merchandising strategies, guidelines, and toolkits that bring the brand and product stories to life in-store.
- Own the development and ongoing maintenance of planograms across all categories and formats, ensuring optimal use of space, strong visual impact, and ease of shopability.
- Partner with Buying, Merchandising, Space Planning, and Store Design teams to translate range assortments and layouts into effective VM solutions.
- Ensure consistent VM standards across all stores while enabling appropriate local or regional adaptation.
- Use customer insight and data, including heatmapping and dwell-time analysis, to continuously improve store navigation and engagement.
- Drive the adoption of VM and planogram software, digital tools, and IT platforms to standardise communication and improve speed-to-market.
- Oversee VM set-ups in the physical mock shop and support the delivery of seasonal and promotional changeovers in line with brand and commercial timelines.
- Provide clear VM guidance, compliance standards, and ongoing communication to store teams, incorporating feedback to support continuous improvement.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Strong balance of creative and commercial thinking, delivering visually engaging, sales-driven environments.
- Advanced experience using planogram and VM software (e.g. JDA, IWD, Mockshop, Spaceman).
- Solid understanding of store operations, layout planning, and fixtures, ensuring practical, executable VM.
- Excellent eye for detail, presentation, and brand consistency.
- Confident stakeholder manager with 3+ yearsβ experience in Visual Merchandising and Retail Space Planning.
- Experience working across multi-format retail environments.
- Results-focused, with a track record of improving space productivity, execution timelines, and store/customer outcomes.
