About the Role:Are you ready to take ownership of a high-impact finance role in a fast-paced, commercial environment? We're seeking a confident, qualified accountant with a sharp eye for detail and a commercial mindset to join a dynamic finance team. This role offers a unique opportunity to be the expert in lease accounting and IFRS16, managing a diverse property lease portfolio while supporting senior finance leaders across the business.
As the Financial Accountant, you'll manage lease accounting, ensuring compliance with IFRS16 standards and playing a key role in financial forecasting, budgeting, and strategic analysis. This hands-on position will also give you the opportunity to drive systems improvements, refine processes, and enhance reporting functionality, while mentoring a direct report.
Key Responsibilities:Take full ownership of lease accounting, including lease commitments, renewals, provisions, and IFRS16 reporting for a large portfolio of properties.Lead monthly reporting and forecasting for lease costs, closely collaborating with cross-functional teams to stay ahead of any changes.Oversee the lease accounting system, ensuring accurate data, streamlined processes, and effective supplier management.Prepare financial statements for internal reporting (monthly, half-year, and year-end), supporting the finance team in presenting property lease results.Prepare clear, concise financial papers for the Board and manage IFRS16-related queries from stakeholders.Identify areas for process improvement and drive change initiatives to increase efficiency and accuracy.Manage and mentor one direct report, fostering their professional growth and development.
