What is the opportunity?

EV Cargo is looking to recruit HGV Drivers

SHift- Monday to Friday 18.00-04.00

£16.48 per hour

Newly qualified drivers are welcome and will be supported to achieve the right skill set.

We would like to hear from you if…

  • You are a qualified HGV Driver C+E with an up-to-date CPC qualification.
  • You understand Tachograph laws and rule and regulations of the road.
  • You have good geographic knowledge of UK roads.
  • You have experience driving articulated vehicles.
  • You have an ability to work without direct supervision.
  • You have excellent communication skills.
  • You have an ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.

Role Overview

The key part of the role is to deliver goods safely and returning to depot according to the plan and adhering to all legal requirements and safety.

  • Accountable for understanding and adherence scheduled route.
  • Accountable for ensuring the correct load & paperwork is on board.
  • Responsible for ensuring the tractor & trailer unit are road legal.
  • Responsible for load security and safety.
  • Responsible for filling in the check sheets and reporting any defects.
  • Responsible for identifying and logging defects into the defect books.
  • Responsible for informing the depot of any delays on route.
  • Responsible for adhering to all Tachograph and working time legislation.
  • Responsible for the safe unloading of goods at delivery point.
  • To act as an ambassador for the company by always driving and behaving responsibly.
  • Be willing to support the sites operations covering Shunting as and when required.
