Job Summary
The GSE Equipment Fueler is responsible for safely and efficiently fueling all ground support equipment (GSE) used in airport operations, including baggage tugs, belt loaders, de-icing vehicles, and other service equipment. This position plays a critical role in maintaining equipment readiness and ensuring smooth day-to-day airport ground operations.
This job is covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
Responsibilities
- Fuel and check fluid levels on a wide range of airport ground support equipment.
- Conduct safety inspections of fueling equipment before and after use.
- Maintain accurate fueling records and logbooks as per FAA and company regulations.
- Monitor fuel inventory and report fuel levels or supply needs to management.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks such as checking tire pressure, oil levels, and battery condition.
- Comply with all OSHA, EPA, FAA, and airport authority safety regulations.
- Ensure fueling areas remain clean, organized, and free of spills or hazards.
- Report any spills, leaks, or unsafe conditions immediately to supervisors.
- Communicate effectively with GSE mechanics and operations teams to prioritize equipment needs.
- Operate fuel trucks and other fueling equipment safely and responsibly.
- HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid driver\’s license
- Ability to pass background check and airport security clearance (TSA).
- Must be able to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety procedures.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
**This job is covered by a collective bargaining agreement of the Transport Workers Union (TWU), a labor union which requires joining the TWU and paying union dues.**
