We are looking for a dynamic and creative manager to help shape and implement technological and customer service improvements in the Blue Badge team. The team provide a vital service to ensure those applicants with severe mobility problems who meet the Department for Transport criteria are issued with a Blue Badge promptly, to enable them to park near to the places they are visiting.
As the Team Manager you will:
- Manage, motivate and develop the Blue Badge Team;
- Be involved in the review and transformation of the service, identifying, implementing and improving processes;
- Represent the service and the Council at both internal and external meetings and forums;
- Ensure that you keep abreast of changes to legislation to meet our legal responsibilities;
- Manage resources effectively, including staffing and budgetary oversight within your service area.
To excel in this role you will bring:
- A proven track record in performance management and service planning.
- Strong leadership skills, to motivate, develop and shape the team and the service;
- A commitment to improving levels of customer service and satisfaction;
- Effective communication skills and the ability to engage with a variety of people.
