Casual Swimming Teacher

Band 7 (SCP 11) – £13.47 per hour

Hours (as and when required)

Based at one of our Swimming Pools across the district

Essential – ASA level 2 Swim Teaching Qualification or STA Level 2 Certificate in Teaching Swimming

Desirable – National Pool Lifeguard Qualification, any other relevant teachers qualification

Prime objectives of the post:

  • To provide swimming teacher cover when needed at various facilities across the district. This could be for planned holidays or last-minute sickness.
  • To provide quality swimming lessons for pupils with wide range of abilities including School swimming lessons and Swim school swimming lessons (evenings and weekends)
  • To ensure a safe environment for all users of the service
  • To comply with outline scheme of work
  • Follow Bradford Aquatics swim syllabus and ASA when applicable
  • Plan, prepare and deliver lessons within the framework to meet National Curriculum Key stage II targets in consultation with individual schools
  • Uniform will be provided to successful candidates and site induction will be required at for each facility worked at.

    An enhanced disclosure check with the Disclosure and Barring Service will be undertaken for this post.
