Commercial Manager – Maritime Salvage
Location: London (Hybrid or Remote)
Salary: £63,000 – £70,000 + Bonus
Language: English
Travel: Up to 150 days/year (mainly UK-based)
About the Role:
We are seeking a Commercial Manager to lead business development and project acquisition within the UK maritime salvage sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong network, proven commercial skills, and experience closing projects in this specialist area.
You will work closely with decision-makers and have the autonomy to define your own approach, within a company that values impact over bureaucracy.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead business development and close deals in maritime salvage projects
* Build and maintain relationships with UK shipowners, underwriters, and maritime lawyers
* Manage the full commercial sales cycle from prospecting to contract closure
* Travel within the UK up to 150 days per year to engage with key clients and stakeholders
* Work independently with ownership of your strategy and objectives
* Identify and pursue opportunities in wreck removal, emergency response, and casualty management
Requirements:
* 5–10 years’ commercial experience within maritime, ideally salvage
* Established network within the UK maritime salvage industry, including underwriters and legal contacts
* Proven track record of winning projects and closing business
* Self-reliant, flexible, and positive approach to work
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
* Comfortable working hybrid or remotely with significant UK travel
