Junior Maintenance Operative – E16, West Silvertown
Contract : 12 Month fixed term contract
Hours : 40 per week, 08.30am – 17.30pm Monday to Friday (+ Occasional weekend cover)
Duties & Responsibilities
- Respond effectively to reactive tasks and engineering requests from Facilities Management and Maintenance Team.
- Carry out all tasks to the standards set by the business, Freeholder, Property Director, and line manager.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to residents.
- Maintain designated areas to a high standard using SOP methods.
- Perform routine maintenance, record findings, and remedial works.
- Report maintenance, health, and safety risks observed to the Facilities Team.
- Assist with meter readings for utilities.
- Respond immediately to issues like leak investigations and clean-up.
- Help with general repairs such as painting, decorating, and clearing drains, ensuring they are debris-free and functional.
- Support the management of the resort including inspections and coordinating with external service providers.
- Assist with lighting system maintenance, including replacing bulbs and testing.
- Carry out compliance checks for building systems, recording results and reporting issues.
- Inspect Landlord areas and common parts, maintaining plant rooms and reporting defects.
- Manage stock control, spares, tools, and materials on site.

- Experience in painting and decorating (Desirable)
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Initiative and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Good customer care understanding.
- NVQ / C&G in a building trade (Desirable)
