Role summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our growing Footcare Service as Footcare Assistant to support our new clinics in North Oxfordshire (Banbury and Chipping Norton) We support older people in Oxfordshire trim their toenails. Toenail trimming is tricky for everyone, but as you get older it becomes a task that many people can not manage on their own. That’s where you can help. No experience necessary, all training will be provided.
Job description:Footcare Assistants offer a toenail cutting service to people aged 50 and over. We offer this service at dedicated venue settings.
It is an exciting time to join our Footcare team as we expand our service across the Oxfordshire county.This is a vital role to support people in maintaining their independence at home. Having neat nails supports mobility and helps prevent trips and falls.
Main duties:
• To provide Footcare Clinic at a weekly venue.
• Cut toenails and give a gentle foot rub to people over the age of 50 – in a caring and efficient way (Training will be given).
• Complete assessments for new clients.
• This is role requires physical agility. You will be sitting during the session on an adjustable stool and will need to manoeuvre your hands and arms to comfortably trim toenails. We will support reasonable adjustments to support you in the role.
• Take payment for the service provided. We are working towards a cashless process, should cash be provided then cash handle in accordance with polices.
• Keep clear records in line with data protection.
• Keep client record up to date, reporting any change in health and circumstance of client.
• Signpost clients to alternative services if additional treatment is needed.
• Complete expense forms and return these electronically, monthly.
• Ensure that clients are treated with sensitivity, respect and dignity.
• Support the Coordinator with the promotion of the toenail cutting service.
• Liaise closely with the Service Admin for equipment stock orders.
• Attend supervisions with Footcare Coordinator.
