McCarthy Stone is the leading UK’s retirement living provider. We are looking for a House Manager to join our team at Banks Place in Wroughton, Swindon.

The development offers modern retirement apartments exclusively for those over 60 in a convenient location with easy access to local facilities.

Hours: 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We can be flexible around school hours.

About the Role of a House Manager

We seek a customer-focused House Manager to uphold our high standards of customer service. The primary aim is to enhance our homeowners’ quality of life and support their independence. This diverse role combines high-level customer service, front-of-house duties, and facilities management. The successful candidate will foster a strong community through event coordination and regular meetings to communicate updates and address residents\’ needs.

Key duties include:

  1. Welcoming new homeowners and assisting them to settle in.
  2. Providing professional front-of-house service and greeting visitors warmly.
  3. Being the first point of contact for homeowners, offering help, support, and advice.
  4. Collaborating with partners and suppliers to ensure smooth estate operations.
  5. Representing McCarthy Stone to homeowners\’ families and friends.
  6. Handling homeowner issues with sensitivity, respecting confidentiality and privacy.
  7. Managing gardens and grounds effectively to maintain a safe, secure, and pleasant environment.
  8. Facilitating social activities and promoting retirement living enjoyment.
  9. Ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude.
  • Extensive experience in customer service roles.
  • A professional approach with high standards.
  • The ability to thrive in a dynamic, varied role.
  • Resilience and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety (advantageous).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • First aid qualifications are desirable but training will be provided.
