About the Role

We’re looking for a Performance Analyst to join one of our projects for a public sector client.

In this role, you’ll help teams across the department make data-driven decisions, measure performance, and improve services for millions of users.

As a Performance Analyst, you will work with service and product teams to define meaningful metrics, evaluate service performance, and provide insights supporting continuous improvement and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain performance frameworks and dashboards to track KPIs across digital and operational services.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including product managers, service designers, user researchers, and developers to support service improvements through data.
  • Translate complex datasets into clear, actionable insights for decision-making.
  • Establish and embed performance measurement approaches within services.
  • Apply tools and techniques such as A/B testing, funnel analysis, cohort analysis, and root cause analysis.
  • Ensure data quality and work with data engineers and scientists as needed.
  • Promote a data-driven culture and best practices.
  • Present findings to stakeholders at all levels, from operational staff to senior leadership.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Strong analytical skills with experience using data to drive decisions and measure performance.
  • Proficiency in tools such as Google Analytics, SQL, Excel, R or Python, and data visualization platforms like Power BI or Tableau.
  • Experience working in agile environments, ideally in the public sector or large organizations.
  • Ability to engage and influence stakeholders through data storytelling and evidence-based recommendations.
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with GDS service standards and performance frameworks is desirable.

Desirable Experience

  • Understanding of user-centered design, digital transformation, or service delivery within government.
  • Previous experience in the public sector.
  • Experience leading performance reviews, service assessments, or continuous improvement projects.
