We are looking for a

candidate who demonstrates initiative, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise a varied workload with minimal supervision. You will be working in a growing department within the Medical Sciences Division.

The Department of Paediatrics is a world leader in child health research, hosting internationally renowned programmes in drug development, gastroenterology, haematology, HIV, immunology, neuroimaging, neuromuscular diseases, and vaccinology. The Oxford Vaccine Group has gained international recognition for its pivotal role in vaccine development, including the Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine. With over 25 years of experience, the group conducts vaccine research at all stages, from pre-clinical to late-phase trials, aiming to protect as many individuals as possible from vaccine-preventable diseases.

This position is full-time, on a fixed-term contract until 31 August 2027, with the possibility of extension subject to external funding.

About the department

The Department of Paediatrics has received the Athena Swan Gold award for gender equality, recognizing its innovative policies and practices. We support staff development by providing up to ten paid days annually for skill enhancement and additional training funding applications.
