Admissions Assistant – The Role
We are seeking to appoint a friendly and efficient Admissions Assistant to work in our busy Admissions Department. The successful candidate will be able to communicate warmly and professionally with a wide range of parents, prospective pupils and colleagues, as well as being a well-organised and effective administrator with an eye for detail. They will also need a flexible and energetic approach with the willingness to turn their hand to supporting any of the activities that a lively school Admissions department manages.
Due to the nature of the role, having the ability to learn and use the School’s IT systems and databases, as well as the customer-service skills to work in an important external facing role, are essential. Experience working within a similar role or setting is desirable but is not essential.
Admissions Assistant – Key Responsibilities
- Processing registrations and fees, identifying and escalating non-standard registrations as required
- Working with the Finance team to send out bursary information, ensuring prospective bursary candidates understand the process
- Assist with telephone enquiries, answering the phone and transferring calls
- Assist with general office filling and record keeping, including uploading of candidate files onto the database
- Assist with event administration, e.g. making name badges, producing signage, checking event stock, etc
Admissions Assistant – You
- A good standard of education
- Able to provide a friendly, welcoming and efficient service to parents and colleagues
- Excellent IT skills, with experience of word processing, spreadsheets and working with databases (preferably Google suite, but training can be provided)
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including being confident speaking to parents and students, both on the phone and in person
- Experience of working in a busy office environment
